APM: How fast is your god?

APM: Actions per Minute
In the world of RTS’s (Real Time Strategies) this rating is really the discintion between “no go’s” and Pro’s. The idea behind APM is how fast your can draw a picture on the screen of what you are trying to accomplish: victory. Korean Pro’s (the only RTS Pro’s that matter) can average around 300 APM per match. That’s retarded boss fast. You have to see it to understand how fast that actually is. It’s almost like the keyboard is just an extenstion of their hand. It’s almost scary. It’s actually comparable to watching ‘cst cHip’ play CoD:MF2 on 360; just unfare. (xbox live him, kids)
Razer recently released a very interesting documentary on competitive gaming teams. In the film they briefly go over APM and the overhead clips that they show are scary. Take a look: (20:30 mark for the APM demo)
The Six Most Bizarre Gaming Mods
by admin on May.16, 2009, under Uncategorized

yes... this is a real book
Gaming mods have played such an important role in the development of gaming world. Some of the most popular games in the world today started as mods to other games. The idea behind it is to take a game that everyone loves and transform it into something different that keeps you playing that “same old game”. Now, some mods totally revamp the original structure while others just tweak the game you’ve been playing for sometime. Have you ever wanted to play gears of war on the PC totally in first person? There’s a mod for that: GoW:FPS:Carmine Chronicles Hell, some mods out there are mod’s of other mods. I couldn’t name a person who has player Counter-Strike but hasn’t played a Gun-game map. i know some people who live and die on Zombie Mod on either CS:1.6 or Call of Duty WaW.
Well needless to say, some mods that are developed aren’t always designed to make the game “better”. Some are made to put a funny twist on things and this week GameSpy comprised a list of “The Six Most Bizarre Gaming Mods” currently being played. it’s definitely worth a read and a laugh.
